The Photographer
A devotion to stillness, in the Dutch tradition.
I am Jeroen Luijt, a still life photographer working from the Netherlands. My practice began with a simple obsession: to recreate the breathing, luminous darkness of the Old Dutch Masters with a camera rather than a brush.
Each tableau is built by hand over days — fruit, glass, metal and flora arranged until a single shaft of light tells the whole story. The result is photo art that feels painted, yet utterly real.
